CS 101: Getting Started with Connecting Streams

This course is designed to introduce volunteers to Connecting Streams, a ministry that serves vulnerable populations in Canada. The course covers the organization's mission, vision, and core values, as well as essential training on posture in ministry, prayer, sharing the gospel, and working with diverse Christian traditions. Volunteers will also learn about personal commitments, ministry guidelines, and the importance of creating safe environments through abuse prevention, bullying and harassment training, and understanding power differentials.

Key Objectives

1. Understand the mission, vision, and core values of Connecting Streams.
2. Develop a posture of humility and servanthood in ministry.
3. Learn the importance of prayer and how to teach others to pray.
4. Gain skills in sharing personal testimonies and the gospel effectively.
5. Understand how to work collaboratively with people from different Christian traditions.
6. Commit to personal and ministry guidelines, including social media policies and facility-specific rules.
7. Recognize and prevent abuse, bullying, harassment, and misuse of power in ministry settings.
